Account, devices, encrypted API-key vault and AI backend control

PlatformBest on desktop; partial on phoneTektBridge optional (local AI)BetaAI-assisted

Settings is where you manage your TektStudio account, trust the devices you sign in from, store your own AI provider keys in a browser-encrypted vault, and decide per app whether AI runs on platform tokens, your own keys, or tools on your machine through TektBridge. It also curates which models each app offers and shows device and project activity.

Who it is for: Every TektStudio user; essential for BYOK users, local-AI users and anyone working from several devices.

Quick answers

Does TektStudio see my API keys?

No. Keys are encrypted in your browser with your vault password before upload; the server stores only ciphertext and model-list lookups pass the key through a proxy that does not keep it.

What happens if I forget my vault password?

There is no reset. Import a backup .enc with the password it was made with, or delete the vault and start again.

Why is my second device marked Temporal?

Only your first device is trusted automatically. Later devices start cloud-only for 24 hours; promote them with the shield icon in Settings > Devices to enable local copies, the Agent and P2P sync.

Why are the Claude Code and Gemini CLI backends greyed out?

They are enabled only while TektBridge is running and reports the CLI as installed. Start TektBridge, click Scan Now in Local Tools, then reload AI Backends.

Where is my token balance?

The Billing and Activity figures in Settings are placeholders today. Apps tell you when tokens run out; purchases happen on the pricing pages.
