Freehand

Pressure-sensitive sketching with drafting snaps, perspective tools and AI

Design & MediaPhone, tablet & desktopTektBridge optional (local AI)AI-assisted

Freehand is a stylus-first drawing canvas that behaves like a drafting board: pressure-sensitive ink, snaps, Ortho, rulers in real units, dimensions, hatch fills, layers, shape recognition and a constraint solver that tidies rough sketches into clean geometry. A vanishing-point ruler, diminishing grid, homography warp frame and perspective arrays cover perspective work. Drawings autosave as .fhd plus .svg into the active project and sync between devices, and any chat in the suite can open Freehand full-screen and receive the sketch back as an attachment.

Who it is for: Engineers, architects and illustrators who sketch with a stylus but need straight lines, true dimensions and perspective when it matters.

Quick answers

Does it work with a stylus and palm rejection?

Yes. Pen input takes priority: while a pen is down, touch is ignored. Pressure drives the stroke width, the barrel button opens the dial and the eraser end switches to the eraser. Two fingers pan, zoom and rotate the paper.

Where is my drawing saved?

In the active project as drawings/drawing.fhd with an .svg twin, written when the drawing is at rest (app hidden, focus lost, 20 s idle, project switch). It syncs with the rest of the project. Without a project folder it falls back to browser storage.

How do I get a sketch into an AI chat?

In Studio, Dashboard, Diagrams, DocMan or the Hub, click the pen button next to the paperclip. Freehand opens full-screen; draw, then press the cyan Home button and the sketch is attached to the chat as a PNG.

Can it draw in perspective?

Yes. Place vanishing points with the perspective ruler, lay a diminishing grid for floors and walls, and warp or array a finished drawing onto the plane with the warp frame. The perspective manual documents every click.

Why is text or hatching missing from my exported SVG?

Save SVG, Save PNG and the autosaved .svg only contain strokes. Print PDF adds text for the active layer; the chat-return PNG contains everything.
